  • New York Farm Bureau
    The mission of New York Farm Bureau is "To Serve and Strengthen Agriculture". Farm Bureau is a non-government, volunteer organization financed and controlled by member families for the purpose of solving economic and public policy issues challenging the agriculture industry. NYFB's "grassroots" policy development process continues to ensure that the organization represents the majority position of its membership. Policy development beins at the county level with problem identification and culminates at the New York Farm Bureau Annual Meeting with resolutions addressing the issues. Our success in implementing policies dpeends on our active, well-informed membership, guided by the efforts of many dedicated volunteer leaders. Membership is vital- in New York we have over 30,000 members so our voice as farmers and farm supporters can be heard!!
  • USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service
    NRC's mission is to improve, protect, and conserve natural resources, soil, water, plants and animals, on private lands through a cooperative partnership with state and local agencies. This service provides technical assistance to farmers and other private landowners and managers through several programs, such as Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), Conservation Technical Assistance Program, and several resource monitoring programs.
  • U.S. Department of Agriculture
    U.S. federal executive department responsible for developing and executing federal laws related to farming, agriculture, forestry, rural development, food safety, and food assistance. It aims to meet the needs of farmers and ranchers, promote foreign agriculture trade and production, work to assure food safety, protect natural resources, foster rural communities and end hunger in the United States and internationally (wikipedia). The largest program is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
  • New York State Agriculture and Markets
    Promotes New York agriculture through programs in food safety, agriculture promotion, implementing regulation. They run a site for new and beginning farmers, located here.
  • USDA Farm Service Agency
    Oversees implementation of farm conservation and regulation laws (Farm Bill). Program areas include farm loans, conservation, disaster assistance, commodity program, cost-share programs for organic certification, and many others.
  • Northeast Organic Farming Association-NY
    Promote land stewardship, organic food production, and local marketing. Offer programs in education and technical assistance, certification, advocacy, awareness and marketing.
  • Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County
    Since 1913, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County (CCE-Niagara) has responded to the needs of local residents with unbiased, research-based information, tools and education. Our programs are developed in direct response to community input, and are based on the most current information available from Cornell and other Land rant universities from across the nation. Cornell Cooperative Extension puts knowledge to work in pursuit of economic vitality, ecological sustainability and social well-being. We bring local experience and research based solutions together, helping New York State families and communities thrive in our rapidly changing world. CCE-Niagara is part of the Cooperative Extension land grant system, an educational partnership between county, state, and federal governments that is administered in New York State through Cornell University. Each county's Cooperative Extension association is an independent employer, governed by an elected Board of Directors, and is responsive to county government with general oversight from Cornell University. All associations work to meet local needs as well as state and national needs.
  • Niagara County Soil & Water Conservation District (NCSWCD)
    Niagara County Soil & Water Conservation District is a local political subdivision of state government, governed locally by a Board of Directors. Authorized under state law, N C S & W C D spell out-- is a resource management agency, coordinating and implementing resource and environmental programs at the local leveling in cooperation with federal and state agencies.
